Dark Horse Stables started when Mitchell and Ellen Blevins decided to buy two Tennessee Walking Horses so they could start trail riding.  Family and neighbors joined in and before long they were traveling the show circuit more than the trail. 

That was in 1998 and a few things have changed since then, we now own Tennessee Walking Horses, Kentucky Mountain and Rocky Mountain horses and we still spend most of our time on the show circuit.  We still love to trail ride and when Ellen can talk everyone into it that’s what we do. 

Dark Horse Stables now consists of Mitchell and Ellen Blevins, their daughters; Chastity Adkins and her family, husband Jeff and children Peyton and Ragan; Charity Burton, her husband Brandon and kids Caleb and Camryn. 

Us girls do most of the riding and mom takes care of the grooming and dad of course foots most of the bill, we can be found at most Mountain Horse Shows and would love for you to stop by our trailer to chat.
